- WHO QUALIFIES
- the league's own rule, not one of ours · 70% of team games played (31 in a 44-game season), or a totals threshold for the category: 525 points · 250 rebounds · 150 assists · 55 steals · 40 blocks · rookie boards use 50% of that standard, which is also the league's rule · the share is measured against games played so far, so an August board means what a September board will mean · assist-to-turnover needs 50 assists · fg-pct needs 100 field goals made · ft-pct needs 50 free throws made · fg3-pct needs 25 three point field goals made · stats.wnba.com/help/statminimums
- TOTALS ARE EVERYONE
- a total is a total · nobody's season scoring is distorted by having played half a season, so the TOTAL side of every board is unfiltered and the toggle is also a toggle between qualified and everyone
- TWO BOARDS COUNT GAMES ONLY
- the league publishes no totals minimum for made threes, and steals plus blocks is not a league category at all · rather than invent a threshold, those two qualify on games played or not at all
- ONE ROW IS ONE SEASON
- a player traded mid-season appears once, with her whole season, under the team she played for most recently · counting her twice would compute her rates on two half-seasons, neither of which happened, and would hide her from a games-played qualifier she clears
- WHICH GAMES COUNT
- regular season only · the All-Star Game and the Commissioner's Cup final are dropped, the Cup's group games are kept because the league counts them, and a game that hasn't been played isn't counted
- TIES
- the league's ladder, in order: head-to-head record · then record against teams at .500 or better · then head-to-head point differential · then overall point differential · anything still level is ordered alphabetically, which is arbitrary and says so
- WHERE IT COMES FROM
- ESPN box scores and play-by-play via wehoop, refreshed daily · records and games back are computed from game results rather than read from a standings table, so they can't disagree with the games counted everywhere else
